Japan Air Self Defense Force

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), also referred to as the Japanese Air Force, is the air and space branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. It is responsible for the defense of Japanese airspace, other air and space operations, cyberwarfare, and electronic warfare. The JASDF maintains a Space Operations Group, which operates a Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system and is developing a space domain awareness satellite planned for launch in 2026. The JASDF partners with organizations such as JAXA, the U.S. Space Force, and NATO members to enhance its space capabilities and international cooperation.
