    Airbus Group had used the market-facing name "Airbus" since Jan 2017, and Airbus Group SE's legal name change to Airbus SE was formally approved and completed at the Annual General Meeting on April 12, 2017, following the 2016 decision to merge the group holding structure with its largest division, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, under a single Airbus brand.     Airbus and Safran proposed a 50/50 joint venture in June 2014 to develop the Ariane 6 rocket and consolidate their launcher activities (also buying out CNES's interest in Arianespace). The JV, Airbus Safran Launchers, was established Jan 1, 2015 and finalized as a fully operational company June 30, 2016. On July 1, 2017, it was renamed ArianeGroup.
