A Chinese Long March 4B rocket delivered an Earth observation satellite into orbit on 2019-11-02.
The satellite launched on the Long March 4B includes an iodine-based propulsion system developed and built by ThrustMe.
The 2019-09-11 Long March 4 launch also carried the Taurus-1 (Jinniuzuo-1) 3U CubeSat developed by Shanghai Aerospace Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (ASES Space).
The third-stage issue in the August 2016 Long March 4C failure was confined to the Long March 4C variant developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST).
A Long March 4C launched the Queqiao relay satellite in 2018-05-01, which was a necessary precursor to the Chang’e-4 lunar far side landing on 2019-01-02.
Amateur footage and images posted on Chinese social media indicate a Long March 4C three-stage hypergolic rocket launched from Taiyuan at about 6:49 p.m. Eastern.
