Sequoia, Capella Space’s first operational satellite, is scheduled to launch in late March on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket alongside Argentina’s Saocom-1B synthetic aperture radar satellite.
The first Capella satellite in the 2020 launches, named Sequoia, will launch from Cape Canaveral in March into a polar sun-synchronous orbit on a SpaceX rocket.
Sequoia will deliver 0.5-meter very high-resolution SAR data to the U.S. Air Force and to several additional international government and commercial customers.
Capella Space has collected aerial SAR data produced according to its product specifications to create a high-resolution, hourly dataset for contribution to SpaceNet challenges ahead of Sequoia routine operations.
