Harbin Institute of Technology previously developed the Longjiang-1 and Longjiang-2 small satellites that piggybacked on the Queqiao lunar relay satellite to support the Chang’e-4 lunar far side landing mission.
The King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology provided a small camera that flew on the Longjiang-2 (DSLWP-B) lunar microsatellite launched as part of the Chang’e-4 lunar far side landing mission.
Longjiang-2 (DSLWP-B) is a 47-kilogram microsatellite launched in May 2018 alongside the Queqiao relay satellite for the Chang’e-4 lunar far side mission.
Longjiang-2 returned an image of the total solar eclipse over the Pacific using a small 'Inory Eye' camera earlier 2019-07.
The Chang’e-4 mission component Longjiang-2 is a 45-kilogram microsatellite that launched with Queqiao and operates in an elliptical lunar orbit.
Longjiang-2 (DSLWP-B) successfully entered an elliptical lunar orbit using its own propulsion on 2018-05-25.
Longjiang-2 was intended to test space-based interferometry in conjunction with Longjiang-1.
The May launch will also carry two microsatellites named Longjiang-1 and Longjiang-2 developed by the Harbin Institute of Technology.
Longjiang-1 and Longjiang-2 will carry synchronized receivers for low-frequency astronomy and very long baseline interferometry experiments and will operate in a highly elliptical lunar orbit.
