Zhongxing-9A used its own propellant for 10 orbital adjustments to raise itself into geostationary orbit at 101.4 degrees East.
Zhongxing-9A launched in June 2017 but a third stage anomaly left the satellite in a lower orbit than planned.
The orbit of Zhongxing-9A has been raised 130 km above geostationary orbit following its end of service.
