Wideband Global Satcom

US

Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) is a high-capacity United States Space Force satellite communications system. It provides flexible, high data rate communications for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), governmental organizations, and international partners, including Canada and Australia. Manufactured by Boeing, the WGS system consists of satellites, control operators, and terminal users, offering services in X and Ka frequency bands and augmenting systems like the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS). WGS provides essential communications services, allowing Combatant Commanders to exert command and control of their tactical forces, from peacetime to military operations.
