Morocco's space activities are primarily coordinated by the Royal Centre for Remote Sensing (CRTS), a space agency established in 1989. CRTS is responsible for promoting the use and development of remote sensing applications in Morocco and collaborates with various entities, including ministries and universities. The country launched its first remote sensing satellite, Maroc-TUBSAT, in 2001 in collaboration with the Technical University of Berlin, and has since launched Mohammed VI-A & Mohammed VI-B in 2017 and 2018. Key areas of focus include Earth observation, mapping, agricultural monitoring, and environmental protection.
