    On 30 March 2012 the Institute for Unmanned Space Experiment Free Flyer (USEF) merged with the Japan Resources Observation System and Space Utilization Organization (JAROS) and the Earth Remote Sensing Data Analysis Center (ERSDAC), with USEF as the continuing legal entity, forming what became Japan Space Systems; the organization shifted to general incorporated foundation status on 1 April 2013. JAROS and ERSDAC are not separately modeled as organization rows in this pass.
