Otto Hydraulik Bremen was founded 1958 (5 employees, ship hydraulics/electrical systems for the German armed forces). Christa Fuchs took over the company in 1981; her husband Manfred Fuchs, an experienced space executive, joined shortly after and redirected the company toward small satellites. Renamed Orbital- und Hydrotechnologie Bremen-System GmbH (OHB) in 1991. Developed BremSat, one of Germany's first small satellites (launched Feb 3, 1994).
