    Event context

Samsung Electronics and affiliates agreed (Nov/Dec 2014) to sell their Samsung Techwin stakes to Hanwha Group; the acquisition completed and the company was renamed Hanwha Techwin on June 29, 2015 (~$1.7B deal including Samsung General Chemicals). Hanwha subsequently reorganized its defense units multiple times: an April 2017 split into Hanwha Techwin/Hanwha Land Systems/Hanwha Power Systems/Hanwha Precision Machinery; an April 2018 rename of the defense-focused subsidiary to Hanwha Aerospace; and 2019-2023 mergers absorbing Hanwha Defense and Hanwha Corporation's defense division into Hanwha Aerospace. Intermediate entities (Hanwha Land Systems, Hanwha Defense) are not separately modeled in this database; this event captures the overall Samsung Techwin -> Hanwha Aerospace lineage.
