Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA)

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) is a research and development arm of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. IARPA focuses on high-risk, high-payoff research to address challenges facing the intelligence community, including those in the space domain. One of IARPA's space-related activities includes the Space Debris Identification and Tracking (SINTRA) program, which aims to develop technologies for detecting, tracking, and characterizing small, currently untrackable space debris.
