    Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced Feb 14, 2000 it would sell its Aerospace Division (a pioneer in Japanese solid-fuel rocket development, including work on the M-V and Epsilon launch vehicle families) to Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI); IHI AEROSPACE CO., LTD. was established via this business transfer. In 2003, IHI further integrated its own (Ishikawajima-Harima) space-related businesses into IHI Aerospace.
