Starfish Space completed an autonomous rendezvous and proximity operations demonstration in Low Earth Orbit with Impulse Space during which Starfish’s payload autonomously controlled the LEO Express 2 Mira and brought it within approximately 1,250 meters of the LEO Express 1 Mira.
The LEO Express 2 Mira performed close-proximity maneuvers with the software provided by Starfish Space.
Impulse Space conducted a fully autonomous rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) mission using their LEO Express 2 Mira.
The mission was conducted using Impulse’s Mira spacecraft during the Impulse LEO Express 2 mission.
Starfish software autonomously controlled the LEO Express 2 Mira during the mission.
The LEO Express 2 Mira was guided to within approximately 1,250 meters of the LEO Express 1 Mira.
Impulse Space, Inc. will perform in-space services with its LEO Express-2 and LEO Express-3 missions.
LEO Express-2 and LEO Express-3 will launch on SpaceX Transporter rideshare missions similar to LEO Express-1.
LEO Express-2 and LEO Express-3 will provide payload hosting, last-mile orbital delivery, constellation deployment, low-altitude maneuvers, and controlled atmospheric re-entry.
LEO Express-2 and LEO Express-3 will use the same Mira vehicle used in the previously announced LEO Express-1 mission.
Impulse Space will operate LEO Express-2 and LEO Express-3 missions for in-space transportation services in the inner solar system.
LEO Express-2 will launch on a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission.
