L-CIRiS recently passed its final review before being delivered to NASA and will be launched on a commercial lander in late 2026.

In January 2020, NASA planned to launch two Earth Science cubesat missions from the International Space Station: the Hyper-Angular Rainbow Polarimeter (HARP) and the Compact Infrared Radiometer in Space (CIRiS).
CIRiS was built by Ball Aerospace and is focused on improving calibration of infrared images.
