Office of Coast Survey

The Office of Coast Survey (OCS), part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), provides navigation products and services to ensure safe and efficient maritime commerce on America's oceans, coastal waters, and the Great Lakes. OCS updates nautical charts and other products using hydrographic surveys and seabed habitat characterization. They also collaborate with the Office of Space Commerce on projects like TraCSS, which supports space traffic management. OCS works with various partners, including universities, to enhance public-private partnerships and train a skilled workforce in ocean mapping.
