Baykar Tech, also known as Baykar Makina, is a private Turkish defense company specializing in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems, and artificial intelligence. While primarily known for its UAVs, Baykar has expanded into the space sector through its Fergani Space company, focusing on developing commercial satellites, satellite components, and orbit transfer vehicles. In early 2025, Fergani Space launched its first satellite aboard a SpaceX rocket and is also working on a global positioning system. Leonardo and Baykar have signed an agreement to jointly pursue opportunities in both the European and international markets, also capitalizing on additional synergies in the space sector.
