Telecomunicações Brasileiras S.A. (Telebras) is a Brazilian state-owned telecommunications company linked to the Ministry of Communications. Founded in 1972, Telebras implements the federal government's communication network and supports public broadband policies. It provides broadband infrastructure and services to municipalities across Brazil and manages the National Broadband Program (PNBL). Telebras also had a contract with Visiona for the Geostationary Satellite System for Defense and Strategic Communications (SGDC).
