U-Space

US

U-Space is a set of services and procedures designed to manage unmanned aircraft traffic, particularly drones, in a safe, efficient, and secure manner, mainly in urban and other congested areas. It relies on a high level of digitalization and automation to ensure the safe integration of drones with other airspace users. U-Space services are provided by certified U-Space Service Providers (USSPs) and include network identification, geo-awareness, flight authorization, and traffic information. Key partners include the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and EUROCONTROL, with the concept being closely tied to Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and the broader drone services market in Europe. Associated keywords include: UAS, drone management, airspace integration, UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management), and digital aviation.
