U.S. Space Systems Command (SSC) is a field command of the U.S. Space Force responsible for acquiring and delivering resilient warfighting capabilities to protect the nation's strategic advantage in space. It manages a significant space acquisition budget for the Department of Defense and works with the joint forces, government agencies, academic institutions, industry, and allied organizations. SSC is responsible for space development, acquisition, launch, and logistics, including managing U.S. space launch ranges. Key partners include the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Space Development Agency, Missile Defense Agency, and commercial space industry partners.
