Sustainability Accounting Standards Board

US

The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) is a non-profit organization that develops and disseminates sustainability accounting standards to help corporations disclose material, decision-useful information to investors. SASB standards are industry-specific and focus on identifying environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues that are most likely to impact a company's financial performance and long-term value. While not directly involved in space operations, SASB standards are used by companies in the aerospace and defense industry for ESG reporting. SASB was founded in 2011, and in August 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) of the IFRS Foundation assumed responsibility for the SASB Standards.
