The Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites (SECM), established in 2003, is a Chinese research institution focused on microsatellite technology development and innovation. SECM is also the first innovation research institute established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). SECM is a satellite manufacturer and has gained contracts to manufacture MEO satellites for the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3). They have also developed satellites such as the dark matter detection satellite Wukong.
