PAZ, owned and operated by Hisdesat, is Spain's first radar Earth observation satellite, launched in February 2018. It carries an X-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and provides high-resolution radar imagery for both defense and civilian applications, such as border control, environmental monitoring, and disaster response. PAZ operates in constellation with TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X, satellites from Airbus Defence & Space, to reduce revisit times. The satellite's data supports initiatives like the European Union's Copernicus program.
