The National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), a division of NOAA, operates and manages the United States' environmental satellites. NESDIS acquires and manages operational environmental satellites and provides access to global environmental data. They also develop critical data and operational products, like weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and climate assessments, while maintaining a significant archive of environmental data.
