The Institute of Engineering and Ocean Technology (IEOT), now merged into the Institute of Production Engineering & Ocean Technology (IPEOT), was established in 1983 as part of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in India. IEOT was focused on innovation and development in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and materials. Following the merger, IPEOT continues to provide R&D services, including structural integrity assessments, corrosion inhibitor studies and safety enhancement for ONGC's oil and gas production and processing.
