HiRISE Operations Center

US

The HiRISE Operations Center (HiROC), located at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona, is responsible for operating the High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera aboard NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). HiROC commands HiRISE, processes the returned data into scientifically useful products, and archives these data products for distribution to the Planetary Data System (PDS) and the broader science community. HiRISE is the most powerful camera ever sent to another planet, and the operations center facilitates observation planning, command execution, and image processing. The HiRISE project works closely with NASA/JPL and partners like Ball Aerospace.
