The Japanese Ministry of Defense (MOD) is a government organization responsible for Japan's defense, including space-related activities. It is focused on enhancing its space capabilities to ensure superiority in the space domain, improve information gathering, communication, and positioning capabilities. The MOD is establishing a Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system and building capabilities to disrupt opponents' command and control through the use of electromagnetic domains, working in cooperation with the U.S. and other relevant countries. The MOD also collaborates with JAXA.
