The Operationally Responsive Space (ORS) Office was a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), established in 2007. It focused on providing quick-response tactical space-based capabilities, utilizing smaller satellites and launch vehicles to meet the urgent needs of military commanders. ORS aimed to develop low-cost, rapid-reaction payloads, buses, and launch capabilities, coordinating these efforts across the DoD. The ORS office was renamed to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO) in 2018.
