Takenaka

Takenaka Corporation is a Japanese architectural, engineering, and construction company that is involved in the space industry through research and development of space living technologies. They focus on "food and housing" to enable long-term stays in space and are working on space agricultural technology. Takenaka has partnered with JAXA, Kirin Holdings, and universities to develop a plastic culture bag technology for growing plants in space, demonstrated on the ISS. They are one of the major domestic construction companies in space business including Shimizu Corporation, Kajima Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Tokyu Construction and Kumagai Gumi.
