European Space Operations Centre

DE

The European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), located in Darmstadt, Germany, is the main mission control center for the European Space Agency (ESA). As a spacecraft operations organization, ESOC is responsible for operating uncrewed ESA spacecraft and managing the launch and early orbit phases (LEOP) for both ESA and third-party missions. ESOC also develops and maintains ESA's ESTRACK network of ground stations and collaborates with international partners on space debris studies, mission control tools, and advanced mission concepts. Key missions operated by ESOC include Mars Express, Gaia, and the Sentinel fleet as part of the Copernicus program, which involve partners such as NASA, SSC and Airbus Defence and Space.
