The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge-sharing center serving the eight countries of the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region. While not a space agency, ICIMOD utilizes Earth observation science and applications for environmental management, disaster risk reduction, and enhanced resilience in the HKH region. They develop land cover maps, monitor flood inundation, and work on soil erosion mapping using remote sensing data. ICIMOD partners with national and international scientific institutions, government agencies, and organizations like UNESCO to promote sustainable mountain development.
