Chesapeake Bay Program

US

The Chesapeake Bay Program is a regional partnership that leads and directs the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay since 1983. It unites various state, federal, academic, and local organizations to create and implement policies supporting the bay's restoration. NASA, NOAA, and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) are teaming up to create software that uses satellite images to identify impaired water quality. The program leverages satellite data from NASA and the European Space Agency to monitor water quality and ecosystem health.
