Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery

The Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) is a World Bank-managed partnership that supports developing countries in reducing their vulnerability to natural disasters and climate change. GFDRR provides technical assistance, funding, and knowledge to help integrate disaster risk management into development strategies. While not directly developing space technology, GFDRR utilizes space-based information, such as satellite data, for disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and resilient infrastructure planning. Key partners include the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the European Space Agency, and various Earth observation companies.
