Armed Forces of the Czech Republic

CZ

The Armed Forces of the Czech Republic are increasingly involved in the space domain to enhance national defense and security. In 2018, the Military Intelligence established the Satellite Centre of the Czech Republic (SATCEN) to acquire and analyze data for intelligence, armed forces, and the Ministry of Defense. They are also developing systems like GOLEM, a satellite system for Earth observation, and STRATOM, a high-altitude platform for image data analysis, to improve their reconnaissance capabilities. Recently, the Czech Republic launched its largest satellite to date, SATurnin-1, which was developed by the Research Test and Aerospace Institute (RTAI) Aerospace on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, to provide imagery of Earth.
