New Horizons Space

New Horizons is a NASA mission, as part of the New Frontiers program, designed to study Pluto, its moons, and the Kuiper Belt. Launched in 2006, the New Horizons spacecraft performed the first flyby of Pluto in 2015 and later flew by Kuiper Belt object Arrokoth in 2019. The spacecraft was built and is operated by the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) and the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). Key partners include NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Stanford University, and Ball Aerospace Corporation.
