Directorate General of Civil Aviation

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is a statutory body of the Indian government that regulates civil aviation in India. As an attached office of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the DGCA is primarily responsible for air safety, enforcing civil air regulations, and maintaining airworthiness standards. It also coordinates regulatory functions with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and issues licenses for aviation-related activities. The DGCA is also involved in developing new air traffic control systems and technologies.
