Amazon Kuiper

US

Amazon's Project Kuiper is a satellite internet initiative by Amazon to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally. As a subsidiary of Amazon, Kuiper Systems LLC aims to deploy a constellation of over 3,200 satellites in low Earth orbit. It will operate as an internet service provider, serving individual households, schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations. The project has secured launch agreements with multiple providers, including ULA, Arianespace, SpaceX and Blue Origin.

Amazon's Leo constellation is designed to bring fast, reliable internet to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. GO Atlas! GO Centaur! GO Amazon Leo!

Amazon Leo has enough deployed satellites to support continuous service across its initial latitudes.

CapabilityValue 3.8Jul 2, 2026RT by @GewoonLukas_: RT by @GewoonLukas_: Last few launches were big for @AmazonLeo - bringing us to 390+ satellites deployed, enough to support continuous service across initial latitudes. Still lots of work ahead – including raising all these new satellites to their assigned altitude – but we’ve completed enough launches for initial service this yr, and future missions just add coverage and capacity. Thanks @ulalaunch Atlas V for getting us to this point. Ready for 40+ sat launches on Vulcan. 🚀 🚀 🚀

Kuiper Atlas 1 used the program codename Project Kuiper at the time of the mission.

GeneralValue 2.0Jul 2, 2026RT by @GewoonLukas_: RT by @GewoonLukas_: Kuiper Atlas 1 launched in April 2025 with 27 satellites onboard, marking the start of a 100+ launch campaign for Amazon Leo. The mission reflected our program codename at the time, Project Kuiper, and was followed by three more 27-satellite missions in 2025.

The Atlas V Amazon Leo 8 mission is targeted to launch at 12:27:45 a.m. EDT on July 2, 2026.

PlanValue 4.0Jul 2, 2026RT by @GewoonLukas_: RT by @GewoonLukas_: Cryogenic propellant loading operations are progressing smoothly at Space Launch Complex-41 for tonight's Atlas V Amazon Leo 8 mission. Atlas and Centaur propulsion console operators here at ULA's Launch Control Center are performing the steps to fill the rocket with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen. We are targeting launch at exactly 12:27:45 a.m. EDT (0427:45 UTC).

Amazon Leo and United Launch Alliance deployed 29 more satellites on Jul. 2, 2026.

Amazon Leo missions on Vulcan will launch from Space Launch Complex 41.

PlanGeneralValue 4.0Jul 2, 2026ULA's next launch, and likely Amazon's next launch as well, will be LV-01, the first Amazon Leo launch on Vulcan. This will also be the first flight of the VC6L configuration, and the first flight of the 85K "LEO-Optimized" Centaur V. Launch is expected in Late-Q3, in September.

Project Kuiper protoflight satellites KUPERSAT-1 and KUPERSAT-2 flew on Atlas V 501.

PlanCapabilityValue 3.5Jul 2, 2026And with that, Atlas V has done its job for Amazon and it's now up to Vulcan. It's been impressive to watch ULA launch these Atlas V's in quick succession, especially the last couple months with sub-1 month turnarounds, and makes me excited for what will be possible with Vulcan.

United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan rocket will fly the first of 38 Amazon Leo missions, carrying more than 40 satellites per launch from SLC-41 to support a higher mission cadence.

United Launch Alliance has initiated the countdown for an Atlas V 551 rocket launch to support the Amazon Leo broadband constellation.

PlanGeneralValue 4.0Jul 1, 2026RT by @GewoonLukas_: RT by @GewoonLukas_: United Launch Alliance has initiated the countdown for launch of our Atlas V 551 rocket to advance the Amazon Leo broadband constellation. Today, we are conducting a continuous roll-and-launch countdown over the next 17 hours that we see Atlas V moved to the pad, all the necessary testing completed, propellant loaded and launching the mission. This is part of ULA's efforts to increase launch day efficiency and maximize launch opportunities while continuing our commitment to Amazon Leo. It increases launch cadence by reducing the amount of time that the rocket spends at the pad. The launch time is 12:24 a.m. EDT (0424 UTC) from Cape Canaveral. http://
