Mission Blue, led by Dr. Sylvia Earle, is a global coalition that inspires action to explore and protect the ocean. The organization unites over 200 ocean conservation groups and like-minded organizations to increase public awareness and support for marine protected areas, called "Hope Spots". Mission Blue implements communication campaigns, conducts oceanic expeditions, and supports conservation NGOs to build a global network of marine protected areas. The ultimate goal is to protect 30% of the oceans by 2030.
