The Board on Physics and Astronomy (BPA) is a division of the National Academies that helps set research priorities. It works with the Space Studies Board (SSB) to conduct Decadal Surveys for astronomy and astrophysics, which determine priorities for ground- and space-based research in those fields. The BPA also collaborates with other boards on space-related studies and participates in joint meetings, such as Space Science Week, to discuss advances and challenges in space and Earth science.
