15th Space Surveillance Squadron

The 15th Space Surveillance Squadron (15 SPSS) is a United States Space Force unit responsible for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) operations and research and development. Activated in 2022 and functioning under Space Delta 2, the 15th SPSS operates the Maui Space Surveillance Complex (MSSC) in Hawaii, which includes ground-based electro-optical deep space surveillance sensors (GEODSS) and a suite of telescopes. The squadron provides critical data to the U.S. Space Command, the National Space Defense Center, and other partners, supporting the detection and tracking of objects in deep space.
