Astrodynamics, space Robotics, and Controls Laboratory

The Astrodynamics, Space Robotics, and Controls Laboratory (ARCLab) at MIT, led by Prof. Richard Linares, focuses its research on astrodynamics, space situational awareness, space traffic management, satellite guidance and navigation, and the application of reinforcement learning to space systems. Other similar labs, such as the one at the University of Central Florida (ASRL), also focus on space flight applications like orbital mechanics, space proximity operations, robotics, and space situational awareness. These laboratories contribute to areas like on-orbit servicing, space debris removal, and the design of distributed architectures in Keplerian regimes.
