Virginia Space, formally known as the Virginia Spaceport Authority, is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It owns and operates the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) at Wallops Island, within the Wallops Flight Facility, supporting launches for small and mid-class rocket systems for government and commercial customers. Virginia Space is focused on boosting commercial spaceflight in Virginia and promoting aerospace technology education across the Commonwealth, as well as unmanned systems testing and training. Key partners include NASA and commercial clients like Northrop Grumman and Firefly Aerospace.
