The International Science Council (ISC) is an international non-governmental organization that unites scientific bodies across the social and natural sciences. It was formed in 2018 from the merger of the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the International Social Science Council (ISSC). ISC's activities focus on supporting international scientific research and scholarship, promoting science's contribution to major issues, and defending the free and responsible practice of science. The ISC has a Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) which promotes scientific research in space at an international level.
