RCA Astro Electronics (later known as GE Astro Space and Martin Marietta Astro Space) was a division of RCA and then GE, established in 1958 to focus on space technology. As a manufacturer, they designed and built numerous communications and weather satellites, including the first communications satellite, SCORE, and the TIROS series of weather satellites. The company also contributed to other space programs, including providing cameras for the Ranger lunar probes and equipment for the Apollo program.
