Defense Science Board

US

The Defense Science Board (DSB) is a committee of civilian experts that advises the U.S. Department of Defense on scientific and technical matters, including those related to space. It provides independent advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Defense and other senior leaders on defense strategy, systems, and technology, often conducting studies on cutting-edge S&T and related policy issues critical to national security. The DSB's recent work includes assessing the use of commercial space technologies by the DoD, evaluating risks, and recommending acquisition models. The DSB partners with organizations across academia, industry, and government, including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the Space Force.
