The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is an American non-profit, non-governmental organization that is a part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM). NAE operates engineering programs aimed at meeting national needs, encourages education and research, and recognizes the superior achievements of engineers. The NAE established the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board (ASEB) in 1967 to focus the engineering community's talents on significant aerospace policies and programs. The ASEB advises NASA and other federal agencies, recommending priorities and procedures for achieving aerospace engineering objectives.
