IAU Center for the Protection of the Dark and Quiet Sky from Satellite Constellation Interference

The IAU Centre for the Protection of the Dark and Quiet Sky from Satellite Constellation Interference (CPS) is an organization that works to mitigate the negative impact of satellite constellations on ground-based optical and radio astronomy observations, as well as the public's enjoyment of the night sky. The CPS acts as a bridge between astronomers, satellite operators, regulators, and the wider community to address the increasing number of satellites in low Earth orbit and preserve the pristine night sky. Co-hosted by NSF's NOIRLab and the SKA Observatory, the CPS fosters collaboration to find technical solutions and raise awareness of the problems caused by satellite constellations. The CPS engages in research, policy development, and community engagement to protect dark and quiet skies.
