European External Action Service

The European External Action Service (EEAS) supports the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in implementing the EU's foreign policy, including space-related aspects. Within the space industry, the EEAS contributes to the development of the Space Strategy for Security and Defence, addresses security aspects of the EU space program, and coordinates EU positions on space safety and sustainability. It also manages the use of space for crisis management and ensures the operational direction of the EU Satellite Centre (SatCen). The EEAS works with the European Commission, the European Defence Agency, and member states to protect EU space assets and promote the peaceful use of outer space.
