Qualcomm is an American multinational corporation focused on wireless technology and is expanding its reach into the space industry. Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary, is actively involved in research and development for satellite communications capabilities, particularly in 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), and is working toward unifying terrestrial and satellite connectivity. They partner with companies like Ericsson and Thales Alenia Space to test and validate 5G NTN technologies, including those for direct-to-device services via LEO satellites, in an effort to enable ubiquitous connectivity. Qualcomm is also involved in location based services, and has been working with the European Space Agency (ESA) on the use of Galileo in its chipsets.
