NATO

NATO is a political and military alliance that recognized space as an operational domain in 2019 and adopted a Space Policy. While NATO itself does not aim to develop its own space capabilities and relies on its member states' assets, it serves as a forum for information sharing, interoperability enhancement, and coordinated action regarding space-related issues. NATO's Space Center, established in 2020, supports NATO operations and missions by coordinating allied space activities and sharing information on potential threats. Associated keywords: space policy, operational domain, interoperability, space situational awareness, collective defense.
